Harrah's Changes WSOP Advertisement Policy

WSOP, 2007-02-22, by TwoGun

The past two WSOP's were littered with advertisements for online poker rooms. Poker rooms set up booths and had banners advertising their play-money sites. For example, Party Poker had an advertisement for PartyPoker.net, their play-money poker site, on the felt of every table at the 2006 WSOP.

Due to the UIGEA, Harrah's will no longer allow advertisements from US-facing sites, even if it is just the play-money version of the site. Sites that do not allow US players, such as Party Poker and Pacific Poker, will still be allowed to advertise at the WSOP.

Players can still wear logos of US-facing sites during the events, provided it is the play-money version of the site.

Pacific Poker does not accept real-money players from the United States.
