2007 WSOP Event #29: $1,500 Razz

WSOP, 2007-06-22, by Ozone

In what is becoming one of the top stories at this year's WSOP, Paul "Eskimo" Clark reportedly suffered a series of seizures during participation in the $1,500 Razz event, but refused medical treatment in favor of continuing to play poker. Just a week earlier, Clark collapsed while playing in an air-conditioned tent which was set-up by Harrah's to allow more tables for gameplay. Despite his medical problems, Clark somehow managed to finish fourth in the field of 341 to win $31,000.

A more positive story was that of Katja Thater, a German woman who conquered the field for her first WSOP bracelet. Katja occasionally participates in discussions on our PokerTips.org German Forums. Her win paid $132,000. Katja also made a final table earlier during the series at the Ladies $1,000 no-limit hold'em event.

En route to her win, Katja had to overcome pros Mark Vos (6th - $18,000) and Men "The Master" Nguyen (7th - $14,000).
